GhostAnswer Data Processing

GhostAnswer is built around a simple and transparent data model: the content you choose to send becomes AI context, account data controls access, and billing is handled through secure payment infrastructure.

The goal is to keep AI interactions intentional, limited, and easy to understand.

Selected content

GhostAnswer processes the text you intentionally select, copy, or submit to the assistant. This selected content is used as context to generate the answer, explanation, summary, or response you asked for.

GhostAnswer is not designed to collect your entire screen, monitor your workspace, or capture background activity automatically.

AI requests

When you invoke GhostAnswer, the selected content is sent as part of an AI request so a response can be generated. The request should include only the context needed to complete the action requested by the user.

Examples of AI request data may include:

•The selected text or copied content
•The instruction or mode selected by the user
•Basic settings needed to format or generate the response
•Technical metadata required to complete the request

Account data

GhostAnswer may process account information needed to create, authenticate, and manage user access.

This may include:

•Email address
•Login credentials or authentication tokens
•Subscription status
•Account plan
•Basic account identifiers
•Timestamps related to account creation or access

Account data is used to let users sign in, verify access, manage entitlements, and provide the correct product experience.

Billing data

Paid subscriptions are handled through payment infrastructure. GhostAnswer uses billing data to manage subscription access, confirm payment status, and activate paid features.

GhostAnswer does not need to turn the desktop overlay into a payment system. Billing flows are separated from the AI overlay experience so account and subscription access can be managed through protected services.

Payment-related information may be processed by our payment provider to complete checkout, manage subscriptions, handle renewals, and process cancellations or failed payments.

Local app settings

GhostAnswer may store product settings locally on the user’s device so the app works consistently between sessions.

This may include:

•Preferred AI mode
•Font size
•Overlay opacity
•Display preferences
•Default model or response settings
•Login/session status where required

These settings are used to personalize the desktop experience and reduce friction during normal use.

What GhostAnswer does not collect by design

GhostAnswer is not built to silently collect broad personal data.

GhostAnswer is not designed to:

•Record your screen
•Log your keystrokes
•Track your browsing history
•Monitor your apps in the background
•Collect hidden workspace activity
•Capture files automatically
•Read content you did not choose to send
•Operate as an employee monitoring tool

User control

GhostAnswer is designed around user-triggered actions. The user decides when to invoke AI and what content to provide as context.

This means the AI workflow starts when the user intentionally sends content, not when the app passively observes activity.

How data is used

GhostAnswer uses data to:

•Generate AI responses
•Provide explanations, summaries, and answers
•Authenticate users
•Verify subscription access
•Manage billing status
•Save app preferences
•Improve reliability, security, and product functionality
•Respond to support or account requests

GhostAnswer does not use the desktop overlay as a general surveillance layer.

AI providers

When you ask GhostAnswer to generate a response, the selected content may be processed by AI service providers in order to return an answer.

Only the information needed to complete the requested AI interaction should be sent. Users should avoid submitting passwords, private keys, financial credentials, medical records, confidential legal documents, or other highly sensitive information unless they intentionally choose to do so and have the right to share it.

Data sharing

GhostAnswer may share limited data with service providers that help operate the product.

These providers may include:

•AI model providers
•Authentication infrastructure
•Hosting providers
•Payment processors
•Analytics or reliability tools
•Customer support systems

Data is shared only as needed to provide, secure, bill, maintain, or improve the service.

Data retention

GhostAnswer should retain data only for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

Different categories of data may have different retention periods. For example, account and billing records may need to be retained longer than temporary AI request context.

Data protection

GhostAnswer is designed to separate the desktop overlay experience from sensitive backend operations such as authentication, entitlements, and billing.

This helps keep the client focused on user-triggered AI assistance while protected backend services manage account access and subscription status.

User responsibility

GhostAnswer gives users control over what they send to AI. Users are responsible for deciding whether specific content is appropriate to submit.

For maximum safety, users should avoid sending:

•Passwords
•API keys
•Private keys
•Payment credentials
•Government IDs
•Medical records
•Confidential legal documents
•Highly sensitive business secrets
•Any content they are not authorized to share
